About the title
Why Formula Med Spa?
The word formula invites a tidy answer. My sympathies go to the untidy preparation, with its ingredients and its experimental conditions still attached.
The name
My fascination with carriers leads back to the published research on cosmetic preparations; Formula Med Spa is the title of these essays. There is no medical qualification behind my opinions. This site is not a med spa, a medical practice or a healthcare business; there is no prescribing, product ordering, shipping or appointment service here.
The name supplies a question about preparations that sound complete before they have been examined. What exactly was in the formula? How did it meet the skin? Which change earned the claim? I enjoy the moment when a seemingly minor preparation detail becomes central to the argument.
An essay cannot examine a face or work out a treatment for it. Nothing on this site is medical advice.
The appeal of the carrier
I am unusually sympathetic to the less glamorous half of a cosmetic claim: the material around the ingredient and the conditions under which it was applied. The topical GHK review’s emphasis on permeability makes that sympathy feel well placed. A difficult delivery problem is an interesting problem in its own right.
My skepticism attaches to the moment the preparation disappears and the ingredient takes all the credit. The hair trial’s combination of GHK and 5-aminolevulinic acid is a particularly good reason to resist that habit. A follow-up that separates their contributions would delight me. Until then, the combination deserves its full name.
Further comparisons
A modest cosmetic outcome tied to an identifiable preparation wins my preference over an expansive claim with the preparation missing. That is a preference, and the skin-delivery experiment shows why it appeals to me: a measurement can become more useful when its exact object stays visible.
There is plenty here to be curious about without arriving at a treatment choice. The collagen entry begins with the cells. The skin entry asks how the cosmetic outcome was described. Together they give the word formula something substantial to carry.
